| New Facility to Be the Largest Structural Precast Plant in Southern California |
| October 16, 2006 Hanson Structural Precast Pacific, a division of Hanson Pipe & Precast and the largest manufacturer of structural precast concrete products in California, today announced that it has secured 80 acres of land in Adelanto, Calif., that will be the future site of a new plant. The plant will employ approximately 100 people and produce a variety of structures, including double-tee beams, used in the construction of parking structures, and hollow-core plank, used in various types of housing units. “This new plant is being built in response to expanding market demand in Southern California and southern Nevada,” said Ed Wopschall, president of Hanson Structural Precast Pacific. “With the new plant, we can increase production by 100 percent and store five times more product, therefore reducing costs.” The new facility, to be located at Koala Road and Holly Road, will feature state-of-the-art concrete batching and delivery systems. The plant will be completed in the first quarter of 2008. Hiring for construction and labor workers at the new plant will start in early 2008. Hanson Pipe & Precast has five plants in California and employs 375 workers.
