The season’s upcoming events held at the Rose Bowl necessitated a quick construction schedule. To expand the locker room facilities while maintaining the look of the Rose Bowl, and because land surrounding the Rose Bowl is in short supply, the Rose Bowl Operating Company chose to build the facilities underground. The new locker room facilities are 30 feet below ground, demanding a strong material like precast concrete for the project. Precast concrete was chosen because the project had to be completed under a tight deadline and required extremely strong material to withstand pressure on the underground structure.
