Premier® Railroad Grade Crossing  
Premier® Railroad Grade Crossing is a precast, modular reinforced concrete system that carries roadways smoothly across railroad tracks. The Premier® system offers the owner a number of advantages:
Eliminates the purchase, installation and maintenance cost for ballast, ties and rail fasteners
No “spike kill” or plate cutting required
Eliminates track “pumping,” ensuring a smooth transition from the roadway to the textured, skid-resistant crossing surface
Formed rail recesses maintain track gauge in the base module
Non-conductive rail boot eliminates false shunting when trains are not present
Optional flangeway insert is available
Heavy loading from trucks to forklifts and high-volume rail traffic all rely on the standard modular Premier® Railroad Grade Crossing system — full-load-bearing base units provide complete support for the entire crossing

Premier® Railroad Grade Crossing systems are produced for the following:

110# rail to 140# rail

Installation
The crossing assembly is initiated by placing the base modules on an accurately screed, compacted subgrade. Next, the rails are placed in their custom-formed recess. Finally, the center panels are bolted (four bolts per track foot) into place.

Relative to other crossing systems, the Premier® structure cuts many work details required to assemble and thoroughly tamp track. It also eliminates the need to place and fasten the surface materials required by conventional crossings. The Premier® crossing is normally installed in half the time required for other railroad crossing systems.
